Job Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President, Market Development, the Manager, Corporate Relations and Group Sales is responsible for engaging with corporations and throughout the community as an ambassador for the Winspear Centre, Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, and Tommy Banks Centre for Musical Creativity.

The Manager, Corporate Relations and Group Sales generates revenue through corporate sponsorships, corporate grants, and group ticket sales. The individual will be a key team member to build ongoing corporate relationships, encourage affinity, demonstrate the spirit of reciprocity throughout the community, and ensure that the Winspear Centre is not only financially sustainable but also solidifies a lasting impact in our community.

This is a full-time position working at home and at the Winspear Centre and requires the ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Candidates who do not reside in the Edmonton area must be willing to relocate at their own expense.

What you will do:

Corporate Relations:

  • Proactively pursue and renew corporate sponsorship sales to generate revenue
  • Manage 30+ existing corporate accounts and fulfill all contractual obligations
  • Develop and maintain strong and healthy relationships with corporate clients, understanding their needs, aligning with our offerings, and growing affinity
  • Develop compelling proposals and presentations that communicate the value of partnering with our organization
  • Develop contracts and submit fulfillment reports after each season
  • Maintain relationships with corporate donors and subscribers

Corporate Grants Management:

  • Prospect corporate grant opportunities
  • Write and apply grant applications, ensuring they are tailored to meet the specific criteria and goals of the grantors
  • Complete and submit all mandated reports

Group Sales:

  • Identify and obtain Group Sales opportunities for Winspear Centre and Edmonton Symphony Orchestra programs to meet Group Sales targets
  • Build and maintain relationships with key contacts
  • Understand client needs and customize packages

Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Develop strategies and new assets to engage potential and existing clients
  • Create an integrated team environment with Marketing, Business Analytics, and Box Office

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce or equivalent in a related field
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with community investment, sales, business development, advertising, or marketing
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills including the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills in small and large crowds
  • Effective skills in budgeting, writing, and time management
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Experience working and thriving in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of computerized information systems and their applications, including OPAS software, Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint
  • Clear criminal record check
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle and the ability to drive to various locations as needed
