Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Musical Creativity, the Musical Creativity Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, supporting, and delivering educational and outreach programs for participants of varying ages and skill levels, from young children to school-aged students to adults, where we endeavour to build interpretive adult programs for musical discovery, health and wellbeing, corporate training, and adult learning.
This position works at the Winspear Centre, and requires the ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
What you will do:
- Lead, teach, and support a varied portfolio of programs including, but not limited to, early learning programs, school field trips, educational tours, day camps and summer camps, and family-fun event activations to create exceptional experiences
- Develop programs appealing to Edmonton’s diverse communities and contributing to the strategic growth of the Tommy Banks Institute, Winspear Centre, and ESO
- Coordinate program delivery to facilitate programming or liaise with teachers to deliver programming
- Complete administrative program tasks including program registration, attendance, and arrange program logistics
- Communicate effectively and frequently while managing communications with internal and external stakeholders
- Act as an ambassador for musical experiences and advocate for the benefits of music participation
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree in education, music, or related education
- Minimum three years of experience with education, programming and project management, and community engagement
- Ability to read music and play an instrument is an asset
- Able to engage and create experiences for young people to older people
- Exceptional communication verbal and written skills communicating with diverse stakeholders
- A positive contributing member of a team that is willing to take initiative
- Able to work effectively independently
